Rainer Lang is the founder and head of the investment committee at RML Advisory.
Previously, he was Head of Business Development German speaking Switzerland at New Capital Funds, part of EFG Asset Management. Prior to that, he was Head of Business Development and Marketing at Kedge Capital, a family office (Bertarelli family) with several billion USD AuM in hedge funds. Rainer Lang was responsible for the marketing and distribution of the firm's fund-of-hedge funds as well as for the development of customized investment solutions to institutional investors.
Prior to joining Kedge Capital, Rainer was local General Manager/CEO Continental Europe at Arden Asset Management, a US-based multi-billion dollar institutional fund-of-hedge fund. Prior to that, he worked at Bank Julius Baer, where he was Head Alternative Sales Europe & Middle East. Before, Rainer spent several years at GAM, where he was Managing Director and Member of the Board of GAM Anlagefonds AG, Zurich. In addition, Rainer was Managing Director of GAM Fondsmarketing GmbH, Berlin for 2 years. In his function at GAM he was Head of Intermediary & Institutional Clients for Switzerland, Germany and Austria (DACH) and responsible for the strategic realignment among other things. Prior to that, he spent several years at Credit Suisse Group and more than 10 years at UBS in various, leading positions in the credit business (corporate loans, mortgages).
Rainer has a solid understanding of a range of investment strategies with a particular focus on the use of alternative investment strategies. This includes both, hedge funds, private debt (secured, unsecured and mezzanine debt structures) and private equity.
Rainer is educated in banking and finance in Switzerland, and holds an AZEK degree (certified financial advisor) and an MBA degree in finance from Charter University, New Hampshire, USA.
